I was looking at Yahoo news and saw this:disturbing!
Search: Media reports say North Korean ship heading for Singapore
On other news, the Asian Youth Games that's taking place here right now, according to reports, 1 of the Filipino soccer team youth is down with H1N1 and now the entire soccer/football team is quarantined at Loyang Resort. Geez. bad start.
On to personal news, I've yet to go to Mango sale. Waiting for payday then going to get the basic tanks and tees coz I realised I've purged my wardrobe leaving me with less than 5 piece of basics. So that's not good and most of them are l/s and in this SUPER HUMID AND HOT weather I can't wear those.
I've been wearing loads of dresses to work lately maybe coz I'm putting on weight - eeks. But well I'm not going to fret over a few kilos unless it starts to show me looking like Chewbecca or humpty dumpty - in other words unless the kilos make me shapeless. Guess I've got to the stage of embracing wherever nature wanna put those curves (mostly to the butt - then again like my friends say better to have a butt than a flat spreadwide shapeless butt). And with the new office location, I'm walking more per day from the train station and going up and down 3rd floor with like 5 flights of stairs up to like 6 times a day.
And I'm going cycling once a week too so I guess I'm just going to exercise but not focused on losing weight, but just to be healthy.
Work schedule has been so tight, meeting after meeting, workshops to attend, trainings, workshops to organise with all the details. Like this coming week I have meetings and trainings for 4 days straight and I got a project meeting tomorrow at 8.30am!! Then I need to prepare my presentation for Tuesday. And being left to be an expert on one of the new IT workprocess when I am still new is giving me headache.I'm still figuring out on my ideal career, I can't wait to start something on my own! But what??
To my dearest best friend whom I have known for 12years now, Happy Birthday to you!!!!!! Wish I was there but nonetheless we got to spend a week together this year. whee!! I wish you all the best in your work, personal life, may you be blessed with good health and always surrounded by your loved ones. Hope you have a great day & may you find that POSB bankcard you lost somewhere in the house so you can withdraw the moolah from your Mummy! =) *hugz*
You're the feisty cili padi that spice up and complement the grounded Taurus in me! May we be friends for many2 more years to come. *grinz*
Thank you to all you lovely people for flooding my sms inbox, emails and Facebook with birthday wishes and also the cards and pressies. Really appreciate all of that. A year older, a quarter of a century. Eeks!! From now on I am so not looking forward to birthdays!
Thank you for my dearest Mr GT for celebrating my birthday for like the 7th time and the appropriate present, love it.
Will be starting my new job at a former workplace but from previously just temping, now I'd be taking on an exec position, hopefully that turns out well, but then again I just have to give things a shot and not be stuck at something isn't it no matter how I enjoy the people and environment and the really2 nice boss. So not more being in credit control, though receiving 6 digits figure every fornight from the VIP account was quite pretty to look at but not so easy to report. And of coz the headache of complex Excel reports (i can't get over that girl from the KL office who didn't know which is row and column in MS Excel, copy and paste (whatmore Vlookup and Pivot tables. geez), I could have a heart attack despite handing only 1 of the reports to her.)
For the sake of more $$ and benefits and the fact that I am still young, I must be a risk taker. So taking risk I am. =)
To the former colleagues, I will never forget you ladies. It was soooooooo much fun and we'd meet up for karaoke sessions, coffees, dinners and what nots. I'd so miss the kakak-kakaks lovely banter and passive smoking lunch time break. hah. And of coz the boss too who has been soooo good to me, I hope he takes care of his health and not eat too much sweets (he finished up my whole pick n mix sweets from Sassafras which I placed in a bottle on my desk! 5 at one go!).
Looking forward to a new career start, a new year ahead and collecting more valuable experience along the way.
PS: to Slash, Su, Sherry etc the people who has been bantering with me on MSN, it was really good and keep fingers crossed I still get to do it even if I need to move around alot in the new job.
MELBOURNE!!! I'm off to Down Under again to Melbourne this time around to visit the bestie there. Like finally! I can't wait, i've got a packed self-plan itinerary! whee...
I chance upon this website http://www.shuella.com/ which provides this cover for your shoes when it rains. Isn't that brilliant??? I should get myself the hot pink ones, so fabulous.
Kinda like the Wellington boots that are made famous by kate Moss during the muddy Glastonbury Music festival.
I am so darn sleepy though I am not late for work.
I had such an awesome time at Coldplay's concert at the Indoor Stadium yesterday, 12,000 people singing along. And how about that rendition of the Artic Monkey's I'm a Believer right smack at the right hand corner of the stadium. That was sooo great. And darn they are so energetic. And Chris Martin must have taken up Yoga, he is so flexible in his bends. Ahakz.
They have come a long way from the 2001 concert with Travis, paying 1 price for 2 great acts back then they were great but now they are awesome (and so are the tix price!). Hit after hit was played...Clocks, Yellow, Speed of sound, Viva La Vida etc and with the closing with The Scientist. I lost count seriously but who cares if it started at 9pm++, it was so darn worth it. Though the opening act sound kinda goth, Mercury Rev, the frontman reminds me so much of Brett Andersen of Suede.
I am still bummed i can't be here for Oasis concert, i waited sooooo long. Oh well.
I'm having this horrible sore throat I just hope it won't turn out to be a full flown fever and flu what with the weather being so unpredictable these days.
Finally met my buddy, Ariff yesterday night for dinner and coffee. His treat of coz since I was utterly broke. And I finally got my souvenirs from him! He actually got me an FC Barcelona Lion mascot thingy!!! That's an inside joke since he referred to me as Madagascar Lion when I had my blonde brown highlights.Pfft. But geez, I can't believe he actually got me that mascot! And he got me the perfume that is not available in Singapore in Barcelona! Whoopee. I am so darn ecstatic about it that's one of the reason I couldn't wait to get them from him.
After seeing his holiday pix in Barcelona & Madrid in Spain and Marrakech,Morroco. I so can't wait to go holiday. All the amazing fashionistas on the Spanish streets were wearing what we here see in magazines. Gosh. How I wish I live there. And of coz since I was his info counter recommending him places to go and Jan was the sales period in Europe so of coz he went crazy shopping. I AM SO JEALOUS.
I still can't believe we're still the same as when we 1st know each other via IRC like back in 2001. It's so amazing, we will talk non-stop whenever we meet that the night is never enough. Despite the sore throat, I had a real good time. Oh but I am still darn jealous he is going to Bangkok again soon and prolly South Africa for the World Cup next year. The privilege of free tix.
To Yuyu babe, we'd iron out my Melbourne trip details next week. I am still considering if I should tag along to Bali with the colleagues...though Bali is not at the top of my list, but an all girls' trip sound fun. And Sherry suggested Egypt trip too since her bf used to study there and know the place well...gosh, can I just go travelling all year and not work? Or maybe I'm just working to fund holidays but at least it's making motivating me to go to work everyday.
I had such a wonderful time this week celebrating both the boy and mum's birthdays!! Putting aside the point that I am so broke and yet pay is in 2 weeks time! And thank god the dad's birthday present has already been bought.
Anyway, I went bowling with the boy on his birthday (which I totally suck but ok I'd just play the bimbo and let him have his fun) by lunch at Sakae Sushi ( a 1st time for him! i had fun making him my guinea pig) and then 2hours of pool ( I haven't played pool in yonks!). And am glad he is thrilled with his birthday present. And so is my mum with hers and the dinner. Sigh, it just makes me feel good to see my loved ones happy.
Talking about my loved ones, I absolutely love the stuff the bestie got me...laaalaaa...can't wait to wear that classic cardi with a black shift dress i just got (i'm just going to snip off this huge ribbon on one of the shoulder ala Sarah Jessica Parker - to me it just gets in the way) from Dorothy Perkins. And I've already worn one of the 2 pairs of earrings on the boy's birthday. And of coz the lace tights! And to Yuyu babe, glad you love the blings and the fingerless gloves I sent ya. I can't wait to see you rock them! =)
Gosh, the last 3 days had been the longest after the 4 day Chinese New Year weekend.
Friday night (23rd jan) - went out for Karaoke with the colleagues all the way till night time. That was total fun, we had a theme of black and white ala The Coven of Cullens (supposedly). Pix on facebook as usual. That was total fun belting out my fav jiwang rock songs since it's been ages.
Saturday - went to J's wedding, congrats to J & Roman on their wedding and hope they have a great honeymoon in Turkey and I like the purple decor. And Hani, you were late, as usual! heh.
Sunday - watched Bride Wars. So totally made me miss my bestie, Yuyu babe. The movie made me teared up in the end.
Monday - was supposed to go to Sentosa with Has and Sherry but due to the PH we didn't really expect there to be so many people going there to, all the ways to go to Sentosa were jammed up. So we opted for Botanic Gardens instead and Sherry had her day as our photographer with her SLR cam, love the pix she took!
Yesterday, watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Though Kate Beckinsale isn't in it since it's supposed to be prequel and all, I thought it was pretty good compared to the other 2 Underworld instalments. I prefer the old feud and all the gore and bloody fighting and all.But that's just me. Let's hope there would be a prequel for Twilight coz I'd really love it if they do a movie on the Cullens and how they came about.

Hehe. I noe right! just wish I can just travel without working but alas that is not possible.Ariff showed me... read more
